VIDEO : South Jersey Anticipates Soaring Temperatures

CAMDEN - Camden County residents are expecting a weekend full of possible record breaking temperatures.
“It’s probably going to be brutal. The best thing to do is to stay cool, stay hydrated, try to stay in the air as much as possible," said Merchantville Resident, Susan Johnson.
People were feeling the heat by the lake today with temperatures only peaking at 89 degrees – so with the thermostat predicted to hit 100 this weekend many aren’t looking forward to it.
“I’m not looking forward to it. I have a new baby and I think we’re going to be stuck inside an awful lot. But I did buy a baby pool," said Philadelphia Resident, Shira Haaz.
For some, they are ready for the sweltering temperatures to come to a close sooner rather than later.
“I really am. I am. I don’t enjoy the heat at all," said Johnson.
“I’m definitely a winter person, I love the winter. Yeah, summer is not my time. I’m just waiting for fall to come," said Blackwood Resident, Laura Taylor.
“No I probably prefer it to be ten degrees cooler, but it has to happen at least it’s actually summer. So it’s fine," said Haaz.
Despite the high temperatures, many in Camden County say the heat won’t stop them from playing their favorite game, Pokémon Go.
“Absolutely not. There are still Pokémon around and you can always go back into your car and refresh with the nice air conditioning," said Medford Resident, Nicole Stouffer.
Air conditioning, staying hydrated, and staying inside during the hottest parts of the day is what experts say will help you beat the heat.
