VIDEO: Delaware Organization Hosts First Official Meeting
DELAWARE - Government Officials, organizations, and concerned residents have come together to bring awareness to protecting and preserving the waterway. On Thursday, Delaware Bayshore Group held their first official meeting. Many believed the area was overlooked after Superstorm Sandy destroyed parts of the state's shoreline. After seeing this destruction, the formation of The Delaware Bayshore Group began. "We're going to be working together to get areas of common ground to make sure we give a better economy- protect that, but also most importantly, protect this great natural resource," said Norris Clark, Deputy Mayor of Lower Township. The Delaware Bayshore area is a source of income during the busy tourism season and is also a home for different species of wildlife. With those common interests in mind, the group plans to work together towards protecting and preserving the bay shore.
