VIDEO: Homeless Veterans Can Now Receive Public Assistance

NEW JERSEY - New Jersey veterans will now receive priority status for affordable public housing.
On Monday, Governor Chris Christie signed a bill that requires the State Division of Housing and Community Resources to consult with the State Department of Military and Veterans Affairs to provide preferential status to vets who qualify for public housing assistance.
The hope is that the new law can help get homeless veterans off the street.
The measure was unanimously approved by both houses of the state legislature.
