VIDEO: Atlantic City Casino Workers Continue Their Strike to State Capitol
TRENTON - Atlantic City casino workers decided to continue their strike at the state capitol on Monday. Dozens of Unite Here Local 54 members took a bus to Trenton and held a rally. Senate President Steve Sweeney and Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto lended their support, as a bill extending unemployment benefits to striking workers passed the senate. The Taj Mahal remains open in Atlantic City even after the union walked off the job July 1st. The main issue in the strike is the union's demand that health care and pension benefits be restored. Management at the Taj Mahal has said the union seems "Hell-bent" on trying to close the property.
