VIDEO: Officials Investigating Fire in Gloucester County
GLOUCESTER - Investigators are still searching for the cause of a blaze that tore through a Gloucester County lumberyard. Officials say the fire broke out at Colucci Lumber Company in the Malaga section of Franklin Township Sunday afternoon. More than 200 firefighters spent nearly nine hours battling the blaze, and the rising temperatures. "It quickly overwhelmed the fire fighting effort that was on the scene initially. Crews had to take a defensive roll really early in the fire because the fire conditions were heavy," said Chief Anthony Baldosaro of Malaga Vol. Fire Department. Baldosaro also says, two firefighters were taken to a hospital for heat exhaustion, and then returned to the scene to continue battling the blaze. The fire remains under investigation.
