VIDEO: Emergency Crew Rescues Woman While Attending Training


NEW JERSEY - A night of training turned into a real emergency situation for New Jersey's Coast Guard.
On Tuesday, around 8 p.m., "watch standers" at Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay received calls of a 22- year- old woman experiencing severe seasickness.
Emergency crews were sent to the scene located 10 miles east off the Townsend Inlet Shore.
Crews were able to medevac the ailing woman, and brought her back to Emergency Medical Services personnel for treatment.
An officer on board said they initially went out for training, but it turned into the "real thing.”
He also adds that effective communication contributed to the successful rescue.
