VIDEO: Oldest New Jersey Brickhouse Will Remain on Its Orginal Property
NEW JERSEY - The historic "George Abbott House" in Elsinboro Township is safe. Thanks to its new owners, the oldest brick house in New Jersey will remain standing on its original property. Back in June, the Abbott home went up for sale, which jeopardized its possible preservation. Earlier this month, the community set on a quest to get the word out about the home's availability, and also started a petition. The new owners had looked at the property years earlier, but returned when they heard about the cause, and decided to buy it to preserve one of Salem County's most precious jewels.
