VIDEO: Excessive Heat Continues This WeekendPosted:
ATLANTIC CITY - The heat and humidity have been building over the past few days across South Jersey and relief is not expected before the end of the weekend.
An excessive heat warning remains in effect until Sunday night for several counties, including Gloucester and Camden, as the heat index in those areas could reach 110 degrees.
A heat advisory is also in effect for the entire state.
Some of those looking to escape the hazy, hot, and humid conditions are headed to the Atlantic City beach, but with ocean temperatures still near record highs it felt more like taking a bath than taking a dip.
For those who are looking for some relief, New Jersey's 2-1-1 system can provide you with a list of local cooling centers - just dial 2-1-1 or log on to nj211.Org.
