The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA) is supporting the continuation of the Garden State Film Festival by approving a $150,000 supplemental fund reservation. $75,000 a year will go towards the festival's 2017 to 2018 seasons. This past year, the film festival drew in more than 25,000 people over the course of four days. Festival goers also screened more than 230 films in eight different locations throughout the city, bringing in a grand estimated total of $12 million dollars for the struggling shore resort. Officials hope next year the film festival will draw in more visitors and continue to grow.
