VIDEO: Atlantic County Seeking Nominations to Recognize Disabled Residents
ATLANTIC COUNTY - Atlantic County wants to honor some of its outstanding residents with disabilities, but officials need your help to do so, and time is running out. Nominations for this year's Donald J. Sykes award are being accepted through the end of August. Named in memory of the former chairman of the Atlantic County Disability Advisory Board, the Sykes Award recognizes Atlantic County residents with disabilities who have not only attained significant personal achievement, but have given of themselves to impact the lives of others. Honorees will receive their awards at a banquet reception in October, which is disability awareness month. Nomination letters must be postmarked by August 31st and need to include a description of the individual's personal qualities, accomplishments and contributions, in addition to contact information for the nominee, as well as the person sending the nomination.
