Video: Rowan Football Preview

GLASSBORO, N.J. – The Profs missed out on the postseason for the first time since 2011 last year, but The leaders of the 2016 Profs plan on returning to the playoffs.
"We’re definitely excited for this year. We plan on winning the NJAC, making a deep run in the playoffs. We’ve been putting in the work all offseason, finishing reps in the weight room," said Jay Accorsi, Rowan Football's Head Coach.
Bobby Barbieri is a Hammonton grad who leads a defense full of local South Jersey standouts, as well as Haddon Heights grad and quarterback Dante Pinckney on offense. This Rowan team is full of former high school rivals, now working together for the Profs.
"It’s actually fun because you go against some of these guys your whole life. I’ve played against Millville guys like Shaq Lee, and I’ve been playing with Jared Sanchez my whole life. So it’s just funny how we all come together and we all have the same attitude, we all want to win, we all work hard, on and off the field. So it’s fun to play with some of the guys you know," said Barbieri.
2016 will be an emotional season for the Profs as well, as Rowan lost coaching great Richard Wacker less than a month ago at the age of 88.
"The effect he had on everybody at this institution is far-reaching and the hope is that in the football program, I can always continue to do that because I know he lives and breathes in all of us every day and that’s what we have to remember," said Accorsi.
Rowan will formally remember wWcker during a home game later this season. The journey begins for the Profs on Saturday night at Widener.
