Atlantic City Cancels Beach Concerts as Tropical Storm Approaches Coast
Atlantic City, N.J. – City officials cancel beach concerts scheduled for the holiday weekend as Tropical Storm Hermine approaches the New Jersey Coast. Mayor Guardian released a statement Friday night, canceling the two concerts that were to take place on the beach on Saturday and Monday. “Due to the significance of the approaching Tropical Storm Hermine, and out of an abundance of caution for concert goers, staff, the bands, and everyone else involved, we along have decided to cancel this weekend’s beach concerts scheduled. Given the extreme weather conditions predicted for the beach this weekend, we were left with no other choice," said Mayor Guardian in the statement. However, Atlantic City’s businesses, including casinos and restaurants, will remain open despite forecasts. The statement also included a public safety announcement that vehicles can be parked at the CRDA Wave Parking Garage at no cost from noon on Saturday until noon the following Tuesday.
