VINELAND, N.J. – Students at St. Mary's School in Vineland had a special visit on Wednesday from the Bishop of Camden to help them start off their new school year.
Bishop Dennis Sullivan is the 8th Bishop of Camden and has stated that he will be visiting Catholic schools within the diocese to express the importance of the Roman Catholic religion to the students, faculty, and staff.
"I'm here to welcome the children and to bring my office and myself here as a sign to this community, and to this school, and to this parish how important Catholic education is," said Sullivan.
After the bishop greeted all of the school members, a prayer service was held in the gym along with a presentation from some of the students.
"It's almost like having the pope visiting the school. The kids we're thrilled..." said Steven Hogan, the principal at St. Mary School.
