Video: Birthday Book Project to Honor Former SNJ Anchor's Legacy

MILLVILLE, N.J. – The Cara McCollum Birthday Book Project of Southern New Jersey kicked off Thursday night with a book wrapping party.
To honor the legacy of SNJ Today's former lead anchor, Cara McCollum, who died following a car accident last February, the team at SNJ Today has expanded the program she started when she was just a teenager.
McCollum started the birthday book project to provide underprivileged children with a new book on their birthdays. On Thursday night, some of our news team wrapped books to be given to kids at a local school for their September birthdays.
"If I can place a book in the hands of kids on their birthdays, I can show them what a gift reading can be," said Cara.
