Video: Progresso will be Closing Vineland Plant

VINELAND, N.J. – Progresso is officially closing its Vineland plant after more than 70 years and will be leaving hundreds of employees without work.
General Mills, which owns Progresso, says the closing is part of a global supply chain restructuring, and will end up costing approximately 370 employees their jobs.
Local lawmakers and union officials met with the company over recent weeks in hopes of coming up with a solution that would keep the facility operating, but on Monday General Mills announced the decision had been made.
The company says it will transfer production from the Vineland Plant to other facilities in order to eliminate excess soup capacity.
