Video: Odds Seemed Stacked Against North Jersey Casino Expansion
NEW JERSEY – The decks seem to continue to be stacked against a plan to build casinos in North Jersey. The group "Our Turn NJ" suspended its ad campaign seeking support for the expansion of casino gambling up north, after an internal poll found little support from wary voters. The poll found just 37 percent of New Jersey residents support amending the constitution to allow a pair of casinos to be built in the northern part of the state. The poll reported that only 10 percent of voters believe politicians would deliver on using the revenue for the purposes promised. The question of whether or not to bring the new casinos to North Jersey will be answered by Garden State voters come November.
