Video: A Police Officer Stabbed in the Face is Recovering, Authorities Say
VINELAND, N.J. – A Vineland police officer who was stabbed in the face and head on Wednesday is recovering and in stable condition. According to police, two officers and state human services workers were checking on the well-being of a resident Wednesday afternoon when a physical altercation broke out. 26-year-old Johnny Flores stabbed one of the officers in the head and face with a knife. Flores and the officers were hospitalized. Authorities say the officer with the stab wounds is still recovering in the hospital, but the other officer has been released. Flores faces charges including attempted murder and aggravated assault on a police officer.
