Video: Winslow Township Dedicates Gym to Olympian Jordan Burroughs

WINSLOW TOWNSHIP, N.J. – The pride of Winslow Township, Jordan Burroughs - who is a two-time Olympian and a gold medalist in the London 2012 Olympic Games, received a very special honor in his hometown over the weekend.
It's not uncommon to find names of former high school sports stars inside the school gym or names on banners for scoring points and winning championships, but dedicating an entire school gym is rare and reserved for a once-in-a-generation athlete.
And that's the best way to describe the dedication last Saturday.
"It's wild. I just remember walking out of this gym with my green cap and gown on back in 2006. And a lot of faces I haven't seen since then. And to return as the man I am today, it's pretty incredible. You know it's always wild because you just hope when you return, you're better than you were when you left. You accomplished more, you're more successful, you're financially stable, you have a healthy family, and I've been blessed to have all of those things. I'm grateful to be back and it's really important for me to show young men and women from this community how it can be done, when done properly," said Burroughs.
The gym where Burroughs spent countless hours training on the wrestling mat, now has his name on it, where he will certainly be a role model for the next generation of Winslow Township Eagles.
