Video: Rotary Dictionary Project to Donate Nearly 1,000 Dictionaries Vineland Area Students

VINELAND, N.J. – Over the course of several days, teams of Rotarians will visit 15 different schools in the Vineland area to distribute free dictionaries to nearly 1,000 third-grade students in about 30 classrooms.
The first donation of the year happened on Tuesday at Johnstone School, where teachers and program organizers agree that the third grade is a vital stage to receive such a necessary learning tool.
"We feel like it's important to combat many of the problems kids run into because they don't read as well as they should, so we try to spark an interest in using a dictionary, and I found that once kids learn to love to learn, a dictionary is a very important tool for them," said Bill Jannarone, chairman of the Rotary Dictionary Project.
Since 2014 the annual Dictionary Project has put more than 12,000 dictionaries in the hands of students helping them to continue to "L-o-v-e" learning.
