Video: American Littoral Society Creates Oyster Shell Reef Along Delaware Bayshore

NEWPORT, N.J. – The American Littoral Society spent the weekend working to protect the beaches along the Delaware Bayshore.
Volunteers created an oyster shell reef just off of the Dyers Cove Beach in Newport. The reef is intended to prevent sand loss from wind driven waves.
This is the third oyster reef created by the society. Reefs have already established at South Reeds Beach and Moores Beach.
