Video: Standoff with Ventnor Law Enforcement Ends with Death of Armed Aggressor

VENTNOR, N.J. – One man was shot and killed following a standoff with law enforcement in Ventnor on Monday.
Residents of a Ventnor neighborhood were alarmed Monday night with the sound of multiple gunshots. Police were called to the 700 block of Burghley Avenue, where 49-year-old John Fetter had threatened his father with a shotgun.
When police arrived they heard gunshots from within the home. They were able to get his parents out safely, yet efforts to get Fetter to surrender failed.
A little more than an hour after the standoff began, authorities say Fetter came outside and pointed a handgun at an Atlantic County SWAT team member.
That's when they say a single shot was heard and the SWAT team opened fire.
Fetter was pronounced dead at the scene. The New Jersey Attorney General's Office is now investigating the shooting.
