Chestnut Ridge Middle School Writes Letters to Veterans

Chestnut Ridge Middle School students and staff drafted get well wishes, notes of encouragement, and thanks to veterans as part of a service project in celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr.
The notes were addressed “Dear Hero” and included positive messages such as:
“I could not even imagine stepping up and risking my life. You did what I can’t even imagine, and that is truly honorable. You may not hear this every day, but thank you!”
“I have a deep respect for you, and I would like to thank you for your service.”
“With your bravery, it is possible for everyone to walk outside and live life.”
“You have inspired so many people not only with your bravery, but with your courage and loyalty to our country. Thank you.  I wish you well.”
Veteran Ray Sambor, the husband of CRMS teacher Beverly Sambor, will be hand-delivering the donations to the Veterans Hospital in Philadelphia.
