Students at Bishop Schad Regional School and Carlos Mercado & Friends have teamed up with various associations across Cumberland County to raise money as part Project Sleeping Bag and the Empowerment Plan. The plan will support the Vineland and Bridgeton Code Blue warming shelters who serve Cumberland County’s homeless population.
The organizations taking part in the Empowerment Plan are Deputy Freeholder Doug Long, the Vineland Firefighters Mutual Benevolent Association Local 49, the Bridgeton International Association of Firefighters Local 4822, and an anonymous donor to raise over $9000 for supplies, coats and sleeping bags.
The distribution of the supplies will be made during a special school assembly that will take place at Bishop Schad Regional School in the cafeteria, located at 922 East Landis Avenue in Vineland. The event will take place on January 22nd from 8:30 am to 9:30 am.
