Stockton College to Host Special Olympics Events

The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey will host two Special Olympics New Jersey events: the annual Floor Hockey State Tournament and the annual Jingle All the Way 3K fundraising run.
This is the fourth year that Stockton College has hosted the Floor Hockey State Tournament, which takes place all day Saturday, January 11th and the morning of Sunday, January 12th. The Floor Hockey State Tournament is the culminating event of the year for the approximately 220 Special Olympics New Jersey athletes who will compete.
The competitors have trained and competed with their teammates at the local level for the last six weeks, and had to qualify to compete in the State Tournament.
Special Olympics floor hockey is very similar to ice hockey, it is a fast-paced, high-intensity game with the main differences being that the athletes run instead of skate, and use a slightly modified puck and stick.
Jingle All the Way 3K will start immediately following the Floor Hockey State Tournament's Opening Ceremony. This is the second year Stockton College is hosting the 3K, the final race in a series of holiday-themed races Special Olympics New Jersey hosts throughout the state.
Jingle All the Way 3K at Stockton College will accept on-site registrants for $35 for adults and $20 for children. This annual race series is expected to raise more than $35,000 for Special Olympics New Jersey.
Both the Floor Hockey State Tournament and Jingle All the Way 3K are sponsored by Atlantic City Electric.
