Bridgeton Expected to Activate Code Blue

With temperatures predicted to drop into the 20s tomorrow night and New Year’s Eve, the City of Bridgeton is expected to activate Code Blue.
The program, created to provide warming centers for the homeless, goes into effect when temperatures reach 32 degrees with precipitation or 25 degrees without. If the area experiences the temperature drops, the centers will open at 6 pm and remain open until 6 am the next day.  The warming centers include St. Andrews Church, Bethany Grace Community Church, and the Salvation Army.
Volunteers are needed for any night that Code Blue is in effect. Call the Office of the Mayor at 856.455.3230 x. 200 for more information.
