New Sound System Installation Completed at Tom Brown Field

Enhancements to the sound system at Washington Township High School's Tom Brown Field stadium are now in place thanks to a more than $13,000 donation from the Washington Township Education Foundation (WTEF).
The enhancements were installed by JD Sound & Video in Voorhees, which specializes in athletic venue sound systems and has improved audio capabilities in a number of local stadiums including Clearview, Eastern Regional, Kingsway, Shawnee, Pemberton, Point Pleasant, and Williamstown high schools.
The new system promises to provide intelligible sound throughout the entire stadium that can be audible over crowd noise, as well as digital sound processors that can equalize and tune the system. This will increase sound quality and prevent damage to the loudspeakers. A new desktop rack will allow users to control and cue music, set microphone levels, and connect an iPod.
“Our entire high school community is appreciative of the gift being provided by the Washington Township Education Foundation,” said WTHS Director of Athletics Kevin Murphy. “The new sound system for Tom Brown Field will benefit our interscholastic athletic program and marching band, as well as the countless community groups that use this wonderful facility.”
A banner recognizing the WTEF’s donation has been placed on the fencing in front of the home bleachers.  It reads: “The Washington Township Education Foundation Proudly Continues its Support of Facility Enhancements and Programs that Benefit Our Students.”
