Washington Township BOE Honors Wedgewood Elementary

Wedgewood Elementary School computer teacher Kathi Kersznowski and several of her students were recently recognized by the Washington Township Board of Education.
Kersznowski and her students received recognition from Board of Education member Candice Zachowksi for their character education programs that promote kindness. After watching the Rachael Ray show that featured a waitress and her son who were performing random acts of kindness by distributing business cards that said “Pay it Forward,” Kersznowski decided to bring the concept back to Wedgwood, creating the  B.I.G. (Because It’s Good) Idea Project.
Each of the school's 412 students carry business cards that read: “I wanted to do something kind for you….for no other reason than Because It’s Good. I’m sharing this card with you because I want to keep the kindness going.  Please do something good for someone else, and then pass this card to them.”
The students share the cards with others, and the card carries instructions on how they may share their stories of acts of kindness on a blog that is maintained by Kersznowski.
