15 Washington Township Students Selected to Orchestra Group Sets New Record

15 Washington Township High School students were recently selected to the All-South Jersey Senior High Orchestra, setting a new school record.
Auditions were held this past Saturday at Eastern Regional High School in Voorhees. Hundreds of students from more than 50 South Jersey schools auditioned to be part of the prestigious musical group.
“This is the biggest group under my tenure that qualified for All-South Jersey Orchestra,” Director Judy Pagon said. “Our students independently prepare for these auditions, which is why I am additionally proud of them and their selections.”
The WTHS students who earned spots in the orchestra include: seniors Kevin Do (violin), Stephen Hoang (violin), Emily Wescott (viola), Tom LaSalle (cello), Julian Savelski (cello), and Arvind Venkataraman (bass); juniors Jacob Heil (viola); sophomores Kyle Lucero (viola), Marissa LaSalle (viola), Matthew Venuti (viola), David Grosmick (cello), Angelo Pingol (cello), and Sami Jamieson (bass); and freshmen Marissa Huynh (violin) and Deven Patel (violin).
The orchestra students currently are rehearsing for a performance at Rowan University on Sunday, January 11th at 3 pm.
