The Greater Millville Chamber of Commerce Announces Outstanding Citizen for December

The Greater Millville Chamber of Commerce recently announced Reverend Richard Myers of the New Life World Outreach Ministries as their “Outstanding Citizen" for December.
Myers is the senior pastor of the New Life Church.  He puts strong emphasis on service to his congregation, the community, and outreach to others.
Prior to entering the ministry, Pastor Myers held many executive and leadership positions.  He was executive vice president of an advertising agency, the director of marketing for the multi-family division of U.S. Home, and a divisional manager for Sears.
He has served the ministry for more than 38 years. During the first eight years, he traveled with his family internationally as an evangelist. For the past 28 years, they have served New Life, guiding it from 70 members in 1986 to approximately 500 today.
Myers has led the church to an almost $10 million building program, which will have a full theatrical stage, an indoor basketball court, 17 classrooms, and many other features.  The facilities will be used not only by his congregation, but  by many from the community.
A strong advocate of community service, Pastor Myers said, “There are a lot of people who take from the community.  If all we do is take from the community and not give back, our community will die.”
He is also one of the police chaplains for the Millville Police Department, senior chaplain at the New Jersey Motor Sports Park, and is one of the chaplains for Inspira Health Network.  His church spearheads many outreaches to the community including feeding programs, drama presentations, and helping the less fortunate.
Myers is the co-founder of One Heart World Fellowship, a fellowship of churches around the world that share the same goal of giving people a better life. He and Dr. Mike Pangio also founded the Abundant Life Ministries International, which plants churches and Bible schools throughout the world.  Through their combined efforts they will oversee more than 500 churches and 67 Bible schools in 24 nations.
He and his wife Helen have been married for 47 years.  They have a daughter and two grandchildren.
The purpose of the Outstanding Citizen Award is to recognize individuals in Millville that make a difference for the greater good of their community.
The Greater Millville Chamber of Commerce will honor Myers at their December Holiday Luncheon on Wednesday, December 10 at the New Jersey Motorsports Park, Officers Club.
The luncheon begins at 11:30am and costs $20 to attend with a reservation or $22 at the door.  To reserve your spot, call 856-825-2600.
