All Sports Booster Club Inducts Eight Former Athletes into Hall of Fame

Eight of Vineland High School's most celebrated athletes were inducted on Tuesday into the VHS All Sports Booster Club's Hall of Fame at a banquet held at the Greenview Inn at Eastlyn Golf Course. The event attracted a crowd of about 200 family members and Vineland Public Schools staff and administration. Each year, the club inducts three former standout VHS athletes, one posthumously, into its Hall of Fame. Inductees must meet a set criteria to be inducted, including graduating from Vineland high School at least 10 years ago, participated and excelled in athletics, made a contribution to the community, and exhibited a reputable character.
This year's inductees include  Jennifer Lovecchio-Cugini for girls' soccer, Sterling "Butch" Duscharm for football, basketball, and track and field, Shannon Sherrer, Schafer Sherrer, Dale Coleman, and Marcus Lee for their national championships in track, and Bobby Daplyn for swimming and cross country. Louis Koering was inducted posthumously for wrestling.
"It's always a pleasure when we can recognize the success of our former student/athletes," said Dr. Mary Gruccio, Superintendent of Schools. "I think the Hall of Fame is has honored so many great people who are role models for our children. I want to congratulate all the recipients. I want to thank you for what you've done for athletics, for Vineland High School, and for our community."
Each of the inductees was introduced by a former coach, friend or family member.
