$1,000 in Cash Prizes to be Awarded in Vineland

Vineland home and business owners have a chance to show off their holiday spirit all while competing for $1,000 in prizes. The City of Vineland has joined with  the Vineland Municipal Utilities to announce the 2014 David DiGiovacchino Holiday Lighting Contest.  While there is no display criteria for the contest, participants are encouraged to be original, colorful, and imaginative in decorating the exterior of their homes with lights, seasonal characters, scenes, and appropriate props. Prize money of $1,000 will be awarded to the top five contest winners, as selected by the judges, thanks to a donation by Gerresheimer Glass.
“This is a holiday tradition that I look forward to every year,” said Mayor Ruben Bermudez. “The decorative lights and displays we are treated to each year bring a sense of community pride and a smile to residents and visitors alike.  So let’s light up the city and share the wonders of the season.  We again thank our friends at Gerresheimer Glass for their generous donation and continued support of this special holiday event.”
