National Honor Society Collects Record Amount of Donations for "Stocking for Soldiers"
The Washington Township High School's National Honor Society have collected a record amount of donations for their annual "Stockings for Soldiers" drive. The fundraiser, which is benefiting the Delaware chapter of Stockings for Soldiers, sends personalized holiday greetings to the women and men who are serving our country around the world. Among the items collected were cash, canned tuna and chicken, ramen noodles, bubble gum, fruit snacks, and lip balm. Members of the National Honor Society's Executive Board helped load the boxes of donations on teacher Mrs. Bernadette Bogacki’s pick up truck. Tomorrow, the students will help her transport the donations to Stockings for Soldiers' North Wilmington headquarters to prepare for shipping. “We’ve had a great response this year,” said Bogacki, an NHS co-advisor. “I’m really proud of what the kids have been able to do.” For more information on Stockings for Soldiers, check out their website at www.stockingsforsoldiers.org.
