Over 500 Local Students To Receive New Winter Clothes From "Coats for Kids"

Over 500 students from Cumberland County elementary and middle schools will receive brand new winter clothes through the "Coats for Kids" holiday program.
On Friday, December 5 from 10am - 3pm children will visit New Jersey Motorsports Park and choose a brand new winter coat, a pair of gloves or mittens, a hat and a scarf, and a book or two.  Children will also be treated with hot tea, a healthy lunch, and a visit with Santa.
“The support of the corporate and local volunteer and racing community in providing these children with brand new warm-weather clothing of their choice is overwhelming,” said Patti Mackie, co-chairperson of the Coats for Kids committee.
The program which is hosted by the New Jersey Motorsports Park Green Flag Children’s Charities.
“The Green Flag Committee volunteers work hard to support our local children’s organizations,” said Don Fauerbach, founder of the NJMP Green Flag Committee. “For the seventh year in a row we are providing these children in need warmth, love, and happiness during the holidays. We’re thankful for the support of our sponsors, our community, and all the racers who have helped us raise the funds necessary to accomplish this special goal for these children.”

Bottino’s Shoprite Stores are donating a complete luncheon for the children, Wal-Mart is contributing new coats, and South Jersey Gas, Atlantic City Electric, and Susquehanna Bank are helping purchase a portion of the winter wear.
