Habitat for Humanity's Superhero Contest

The Cumberland County Habitat for Humanity is asking local elementary and middle students to sketch and design a costume for their new Superhero mascot.
“We here at Habitat are always looking at ways to include our community and inspire the youth in our area to take action," said Alyssa Velazquez, spokesperson for the project. "This year, we have developed an activity geared towards the students in Cumberland County."
The deadline for the sketch is Nov. 12.  Students are asked to bring the sketch and design to school with them.  Judging will take place that day, with a parade of all the entrants. Each costume must be accompanied by a sketch.
There will be two winners, and those two students will receive a Superpower basket filled with everything a Habitat crime fighter would need.  The winners will also be the banner leaders for Habitat in the Vineland Holiday Parade on Nov. 29.   All students who participate in the contest will be inducted into the organization's Young Hero League, and are invited to walk with the group in the parade.
