VIDEO: Absegami Football Ready to Return to Playoffs

GALLOWAY - The Braves are pushing their physical limits in preparation for the 2015 football season.  Absegami, a program is used to competing in the playoffs every year. But ‘Gami was one of the younger teams in the Cape Atlantic League a year ago, and with a record of “three and seven”, missed out on the postseason.

Absegami returns nine starters on offense and nine starters on defense, which means the Braves expect to play meaningful games in November. But as head coach Dennis Scuderi Junior reminds his team, navigating through a tough CAL American conference is a grind.

“When you get into camp and now you’re a week and change in, it starts to get hard," said Scuderi Jr. "And it’s very similar, we were just talking about the way our season unfolds. In this division, anybody, any given week can win a football game. You have to be able to give that effort and you have to be able to come with that enthusiasm every day. And we’re just trying to simulate that during camp. So as we get into each week we’re able to do the same thing."

Absegami opens the season on the road at Ocean City on Friday. September 11th.  Then the Braves host perennial powerhouse St. Joseph in week two.
