Free Little Library Opens in Front of Mayor Albert Kelly's Home

BRIDGETON - Bridgeton Major Albert Kelly has launched a new program called the Little Library, right in front of his home.
Installed in a miniature wooden box on a platform outside Kelly’s home, the idea behind the Little Library program is to promote literacy and encourage reading through a free book exchange. People can borrow a book from a Little Library or leave one to share with others, all at no charge.
The program is part of a worldwide effort that boosts over 30,000 free little libraries.
According to a staff member at the Bridgeton Public Library, future Little Libraries are expected to be installed at Johnson Reeves Playground and Pocket Park.
