Cumberland County 4-H Summer Enrichment Programs Wrap Up

MILLVILLE - Cumberland County 4-H summer enrichment programs have brought Cumberland County Youth to the Rutgers Cooperative Extension Center, the 4-H Klem Building and the County fairgrounds.
“4-H is deeply grateful to all of our 4-H volunteers who have stepped up to assist us in bringing a full schedule of summer programs to kids in our community,” said County 4-H Agent Julie Karavan.
Science Adventures participants crafted boats, catapults and experimented with parachutes in the 3 days they spent at the 4-H Center. The popular 4-H adventure program, presented by 4-H Program Assistant Cheryl McCormick also concluded on Friday at the County Fairgrounds. Youth learned about poultry, cows, butterflies, goats, and visited a working farm.
The final 4-H summer enrichment program is Get Your Green On, which includes 3 days of fun, hands-on projects including creating gardening containers, “throw and grow” seed bombs, and a re-purposed pallet project. Kids will be creating and engineering in the garden, with support from Rutgers Master Gardeners. To register for Get Your Green On, contact the 4-H Center at 856.451.2800 ext. 3. The program is recommended for children in grades fourth through eigth and will be Held August 25th, 26th, and 27th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
